The Cosy is perhaps one of the firmest mattresses in my range of orthopaedic beds. However, they are still not 'rock hard'. On top of the orthopaedic springs is a layer of firm ortho care padding, This is then bounded by another layer of firm wadding and topped off with a thick layer of 800gsm polyester to give a comfortable sleep surface.

It is then traditionally hand tufted to create a medium to firm tension. This would make it entirely suitable for people of a large build or even hotel and guest house use where the bed will be used as seating as well as sleeping!

The fabric is a lovely and hard wearing pale blue and white horizontal stripe. The base surface is padded to give the mattress extra cushioning (not just covered hardboard) and incorporates brass joining bars and a rolled and padded bumper bar which enhances the design and saves the need for a valance.

. All in all this is a lovely bed at a real value for money price.
