Things you need to know...
The mattresses offered below are what I think the best available from a number of large and small independent manufacturers. They start at £125 going up to £425. This price range is my market and therefore I have no need to add dearer models. However, if you like what you see and wish for me to source you something a little more exclusive then please contact me and let me know what you are looking for. Personally, I think this is an exceptional range at and I'm sure you will find the right mattress here.

One of which has been manufactured to be slightly firmer than the other.In this section we also find the introduction of Memory Foam as the comfort layer. This mattress is very similar to the Pashmina above. However, this one has a deep layer of soft reflex foam as the comfort layer rather than the rebound polyester wadding above. Again the 1000 springs bely the outstanding comfort levels on either of these mattresses. |

| This is the softer side of medium because of the very soft lambswool used as the final comfort layer. . Very well priced for a 1200 pocket sprung mattress. Beautiful damask fabric, Machine side stitching but the price justifies this. The compromise you make between this and the Farndale above is you lose the 2 row gen hand side stitching but gain 200 extra pocket springs for £20 more . Comfortwise they are both very similar although my personal preference, testing side by side is this one. | ||||

Going up in price to between £300 - £400 |
If you have more than £300 to spend on a mattress then that is a considerable sum. For me, over £300 represents a mid to top of range - Many outlets see £300 as lower mid range.
Also, for this budget you should not be choosing anything other than pocket springs as the spring / support system. The higher the spring count the better. The comfort layer should be no less than Latex or Memory Foam - and / or layers of Cashmere and wool. The mattresses below represent the top of ranges for pocket springs. For the price you just cannot get any better - and that's a promise.

The Eternity 1500 has the best of both worlds. The main benefit is the massive 2" deep layer of latex (many are just 1" deep) Plus the 1500 pocket springs and then the quality of the soft silk fabric. . How to choose? On this model (compared to The Affiniity) you are sacrificing 500 pocket springs but gaining a 2" layer of Latex.. Because of the 2" deep latex as a comfort layer I personally think this is well worth the sacrifice.

Medium. Excellent quality mattress consisting of a 1500 pocket spring system topped with a 1" reflex foam layer (support) plus a 2" memory foam layer as the comfort layer. The 4 way stretch micro quilt fabric is also top of range with a high cashmere content. Sim side stitch. Rather than 2" of latex (as on The Eternity 1500) you will be getting 2+1 (2" Visco memory and 1" Reflex). An excellent combination particularly if you suffer from niggly back pain. |

The price point on this mattress just does not do the mattress any justice whatsoever. But, that is what I do. I find little gems like this and offer them at the right price. This mattress really is a top of range suspension pocket mattress with a massive multi layer wadding count including a layer of wool and cotton.Note this is available from last week in February |

What is hand side stitching?
Hand side stitching is the mark of an expensive mattress. That is why some manufacturers try to replicate traditional hand side stitching, by machine.
The images below show a mattress with SIMULATED side stitching and a mattress with HAND side stitching. They look very similar but simulated side stitching is done by machine and is only a decorative detail. Hand side stitching (or Hand stitched) is a time served craft and labour intensive process where the side panel is painstakingly stitched to the pocket springs inside before the mattress is sewn up. This process stops the side panel from 'bellying' and to provide ultimate edge to edge support. 'Bellying' is where a side panel 'bulges' out if you lie on the edge because there is nothing to connect the side panel to the springs.
Hand side stitching comes in either two rows or three rows .- Two rows of hand stitching is quite acceptable.
